To those who don't know what is OLED. OLED is stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode, a technology that 10 times thinner than your existing LCD TV. OLED is far advance than LCD or LED display because you can fold it or rolled it like a paper. It acts like any other colored display television or even your iPhone screen.
Samsung Mobile Display Co. filed a trademarks for new loop of AMOLED technology. It will be incorporated into a line of flexible AMOLED displays. These are the following trademarks filed by Samsung with the United States Patent and Trademark Office
YOUM flexible display, according to Samsung, uses a Thin Film Transistor (TFT) technology, allowing the display to be thinner that its traditional six-layered LCD counterpart. Unlike OLEDs, which use two layers of glass, the flexibility of the YOUM display is feasible thanks to its use of plastic and a thin film, thereby contributing to the display's light weight and durability. Samsung even goes so far as to call the displays "unbreakable".
The following pictures are drafted mock concepts of this flexible display technology that could revolutionize all sorts of devices. It could be an umbrella, a computer, a laptop monitor, a musical instruments and etc.
