Five people got hurt when the R&B crooner, Chris Brown, and the rap artist Drake had a fight last Thursday, June 14 at Club W.i.P. in SoHo.
Cubes of ice, cocktail glasses and high-priced bottles of liquor were the weapons used by the two on their fight.
According to Mr. Brown's lawyer, Mr. Brown's chin was slashed and his girlfriend, Karrueche Tran suffered an injury. While, Mr. Brown's bodyguard got a slice in his head having at least 20 stitches. An innocent tourist from Australia didn’t avoid the rampage and she got 16 stitches in her scalp.
“It was just mayhem, everybody just started running, there was glass everywhere, it was very scary,” according to Khaliah Clark, a fashion stylist who was in the club’s VIP area. The only reason I didn’t get hurt was I had a hat and rain boots on. If I’d been wearing normal club attire, I would’ve been cut up.”
The trouble started according to Ms. Clark, when Mr. Brown ask a waitress to send a bottle of Champagne to Drake and then saw the waitress, quickly return with the bottle in hand to Mr. Brown. And also according to her, the ice chips were flung at Mr. Brown’s table, and then a bottle was thrown from Mr. Brown’s table into the center of the crowd. Then the throwing of bottles started, back and forth.
But the lawyer of Mr. Brown, Mr. Mark Geragos said that Mr. Brown never sent a bottle of Chanpagne to Drake. He also denied the reports that Drake had sent Mr. Brown a disparaging not about Rihanna. And he also said that it was all organize by Drake.
But according from the police investigation, the fight started when Mr. Brown, his girlfriend and his bodyguard were leaving the club. Five people, reportedly form Drake’s retinue, approached them and said, “What’s your problem with Drake?” Then they suddenly stripped off their shirts, as if preparing for a fight, as witness told the police.
There is no arrests have been made in the case of the Club W.i.P.’s flying ice cubes and glasses incident. The club is still open for business. And both artists, still on their own schedules like there’s no fight happened.
